Proactive Smart City Planning

This raises the important point of how city planning is more reactive for solving immediate problems, be it traffic flow, climate change or depletion of natural resources. Urban planning has to be more proactive and plan for the residents of the future. Smart Cities need to plan basic necessities such as traffic management, water, sanitation and public safety. Smart parking, smart city lights, smart ways to conserve and utilize natural resources is a start but more needs to be done, on a larger scale and for the future rather than the present.
